NerdFarm™ is a premium tabletop technology builder, focusing on creating a Virtual Tabletop, SRDs, and other tools for modern tabletop RPGs.
What if one tool could do it all?
The first premium, "game-system-aware", completely ad-free VTT, Campaign Manager, Character Manager, and GM Assistant; all in one.
Combine features of your favorite tools into a single platform that understands your rules, handles complex mechanics automatically, and seamlessly supports Pathfinder, Starfinder, D&D 3.5, Cypher System, and more.
The Ultimate Open Game Reference
Our effort to create a single point of reference to find every Open Game SRD for any game system without clutter or distractions.
Providing pristine, accessible, and fast references for players and GMs who want quick access to the rules they need, when they need them.
NerdFarm™ is a US based company founded and run by tabletop
gamers, for tabletop gamers. What started as a small personal project to allow a
single GM to run his D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder games with remote players, well before
the age of virtual tabletops, Zoom/Google Meet sessions, and Discord. Multiple
groups of players kept insisting "this needs to be a product". And the idea for
ConfirmedCritical™ was born.
The original version was very bespoke to one game, built for a single GM's needs.
This obviously wouldn't work. It was decided to start from scratch, and rebuild it
into something that could be used by any GM to run whatever kind of game they want.
We believe there is no one way to run a game, there is no one single ideal game
system, and no one-size-fits-all playstyle. So long as everyone at the table is
having a good time, then we say that's a good game.
We also believe that games should be open to all. So a decision was made in the
beginning that we would not support any version of D&D after 3.5/Pathfinder. We
would however, be open to supporting other; smaller game systems, so long as they
remained open. This is a position we've held years prior to the WotC OGL 1.1
controversy of January 2023.
When Paizo set out to create the Open
RPG Creative (ORC) License, a system-agnostic and irrevocable open gaming
license, they invited input from across the tabletop community.
NerdFarm™ was one of many independent and small companies
that contributed to its drafting.
Our contributions focused on what we know best: digital tools. We shared our
perspective on how an open license should handle virtual tabletops, campaign
management software, and other digital tools built on open game content, so that
the people building them, and the players using them, are protected too.
TTRPG Mascot Across Genres
NerdFarm™ is seeking a commissioned digital artist to illustrate Vira, the mascot for ConfirmedCritical™, our virtual tabletop and campaign-management platform.
Vira is a tiefling who serves as our recurring “every-character.” She can be the paladin defending her party, the swashbuckler aboard a pirate ship, the investigator in a modern mystery, or the driver in a cyberpunk chase. Her role, clothing, equipment, and surroundings change, but she should always be recognizably Vira.
We'll provide a detailed character design and style guide, along with reference artwork. We're looking for someone who can interpret that guide creatively, preserve her defining features and proportions, and convincingly adapt her to different roles and worlds.
Commissions may include:
Her tiefling features stay part of her design in every setting. The creative challenge is making her feel like she belongs in each world while preserving her identity.
We're looking for polished, illustrative work in the tradition of TTRPG sourcebook and adventure art, with Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder as broad reference points: painterly or rendered digital illustration, convincing anatomy and materials, expressive characters, strong composition, and atmospheric lighting.
You don't need to reproduce a particular artist's style. We're interested in your ability to bring a consistent character to life within that broader visual direction.
For scene work, the environment should help tell the story. Vira should feel physically present in the scene through her lighting, perspective, pose, and interaction with the world around her.
Experience with fantasy humanoids, expressive faces, costume and equipment design, and working from established character guides is especially relevant. Published TTRPG credits are welcome but not required.
Please submit existing portfolio work. Custom Vira samples are not needed for the initial submission.

We publish our employee handbook openly, because you shouldn't have to wait for an offer letter to find out how a company actually treats its people. Read how we work, what we expect, and what you can expect from us.

We intentionally keep our interview process short.
Long, drawn-out interview processes disproportionately favor people with large
amounts of disposable time. We don't believe someone should have to invest 8-10
hours across multiple rounds of interviews just to be considered for an
entry-level position.
Our process consists of two interviews and should take less
than two hours of your time from start to finish, including both
interviews combined.
We do not conduct five rounds of interviews, and we do not ask candidates to
complete unpaid take-home assignments.
Both interviews are conducted over video chat.
At the beginning of each interview, candidates should expect a brief
verification step. Unfortunately, the rise of AI-assisted fraud, deepfakes, face
swaps, and proxy interviewing has made this necessary.
Candidates will also be asked to share their screen during the skills
assessment.
These steps are not intended to be invasive or punitive. We simply need to
ensure that the person we are interviewing is the person participating in the
interview and working through the exercise.
This is an informal conversation. We'll discuss:
This is not an assessment disguised as a conversation.
We're simply trying to determine whether we'd enjoy working together and whether
NerdFarm™ is a good fit for you.
The second interview is broken into three sections.
We'll discuss work you've submitted, things you've built, and experiences you've listed on your resume. We're interested in understanding:
We care far more about your understanding of your work than how polished it is.
If you submit examples of your work, expect to discuss them in detail.
You'll be given a single, realistic problem relevant to the role to work
through.
This will not be a trivia quiz, a memorization exercise, or a trick question.
But it will be a hard problem to solve for most people.
The exercise will be representative of the kinds of problems you might
encounter at NerdFarm™.
You may use documentation, reference material, and AI tools during this
exercise. We recognize that AI is now a normal part of modern professional
workflows.
AI may assist your thinking, but it may not replace your
thinking.
We need to see you solve the problem.
Using AI to explain concepts, look up documentation, or validate an approach is
acceptable. Delegating the exercise to an AI system is not.
Throughout the exercise, we'll be paying attention to how you:
A perfect answer is not required.
This time is entirely for you. Ask us anything.
Questions about NerdFarm™,
ConfirmedCritical™, the tools and systems we use,
compensation, company culture, or expectations for the role are all welcome.
Interviews work both directions. You should be evaluating
NerdFarm™ just as much as we're evaluating you.
If you're interested in having your game system added to ConfirmedCritical™ when it launches. Please fill out this form and we'll get back to you.
